Week of January 12th, 2026

Reading

In reading this week we will be reading Jack and the Hungry Giant Eat Right With MyPlate (Fairy Tale) and Edible Colors: See, Learn, Eat (Informational Text).  We will be working on Identifying the topic and central idea of an informational text. We will be working on the letter sounds L (Lamar Lobster) and H (Hattie Horse).  Our reader this week will be Do you like January?  This week we will be working on the following words: are, lot, not, was, you, do and like.

Math

In math we will be count up to 10 using one-to-one correspondence and number words in sequential order.  We will also be using a 10-frame as a tool to count and represent counts to 10.

Let’s Find Out

Children will analyze the meaning of peace as they examine a belief of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
