Week of January 20th, 2026

Reading

In reading this week we will be reading Getting Rest (Informational Text) and Bed (Poem).  We will be working on Identifying the topic and central idea of an informational text. We will be working on the letter sounds W (Willa Walrus) and J (Jayden Jellyfish).  The focus letter will be the letter I (Iggy Iguana).   Our reader this week will be Winter is Here!  This week we will be working on the following words: be, do, had, ten, will, my and get.

Math

In math we will be identifying whether the number of objects (to 10) in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number in another group. We also will be comparing two numbers from 1 to 10.

Let’s Find Out

Our Let’s Find Out this week will be Let the Games Begin!  Children will discover answers to questions about the Winter Olympics.
